About the role
We are looking for a security engineer to develop, execute, and enhance security measures to protect our systems and data.
Location
All Chainstack roles are fully remote. To create the best experience for your future colleagues, this role requires that you be based within the EMEA time zone.
Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and track security measures to protect information, infrastructure, and internal systems.
- Design security strategies and engineer comprehensive cybersecurity architectures.
- Identify, define, and document system security requirements while recommending solutions.
- Ensure compliance with security certifications such as SOC2 and participate in security audits and assessments.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware.
- Monitor systems for irregular behavior and implement preventive measures.
- Develop and update the company’s information security strategy.
- Manage security incidents and implement remediation plans.
- Conduct internal security audits, including vulnerability assessments.
- Educate and train staff on information security best practices.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in cybersecurity or SRE/DevOps with a strong security focus.
- Experience with containers and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Nomad), infrastructure automation tools (Helm, Terraform, Ansible), monitoring solutions (Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB), and cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Solid security knowledge, including authentication/authorization, certificate/secret management, microservice architecture security, cloud security, access control, networking security, Linux security, and web-related threats.
- Basic coding skills in Go, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience with red and blue team operations.
- Experience with security testing and preventive tools (SAST, DAST, IAST, WAF, CSPM).
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to proactively improve internal tools and processes through an Infrastructure-as-Code approach.
- Understanding of best security practices and their implementation at a business-wide level.
- Ability to prioritize projects and collaborate with developers and operations teams.
- Strong communication skills to translate complex security matters to non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Experience in preparing for and passing SOC2 audits.
- Certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CEH, or CISM.
