Base is planning to bring a million developers and a billion users onchain. We need your help to make that happen.

We believe that the onchain platform is the most important builder platform since the internet (“online”). We believe that the onchain platform should be open source, free to use, and globally available. And we believe that in order to make it really work, we need all hands on deck, working together to scale in a secure, decentralized, easy-to-use way.

Base is built on Optimism’s open-source OP Stack. We’re joining as the second Core Dev team working on the OP Stack to ensure it’s a public good available to everyone; and contributing a portion of sequencer revenue to funding public goods.

We’re looking for a Base Country Lead, Germanywho will help us grow Base’s global footprint. You’ll be responsible for driving Base’s adoption in the Germany.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

Be the primary ambassador for Base in the country
Incubate and grow the local Base community
Run scrappy growth initiatives to onboard developers and users
Design and execute builder GTM strategies and programs (e.g. buildathons, launchpads, fellowships)
Support builders through mentorship and curating grant funding
Identify local app, accelerator, VC, and distribution partnership opportunities
Recruit and manage local community members to scale needs
Share market intel, community and product feedback with the wider Base team

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

Must haves

Operational experience in a crypto startup/project (founder, early employee, community/growth head)
Deep connectivity in / understanding of your local crypto, startup and developer market
A relentless, solutions-oriented self-starter
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
A passion for building a global onchain economy

Nice to haves

Experience creating and scaling a community-driven project
Experience running GTM and activation campaigns for developers
Experience setting-up and managing a program for startups (e.g. accelerators, incubators)
