About Us
Footium is an innovative multiplayer football management game where players own and manage their digital football club. As a club owner, you gain access to the game, a unique 3D stadium, a generative club badge, AI-generated lore, club kit and colors, an initial squad of 20 players, and an academy that produces new youth players every season.
Co-founders Jordan and James developed the MVP for Footium during the 2020 Encode Hackathon. The project was a finalist and entered Encode's Accelerator program in September 2020. With support from Encode Club and angel investors, Footium raised pre-seed funding in 2021, enabling the team to work full-time on the project.
Footium's first club mint happened in November 2021, selling 3,060 generated clubs in just 23 minutes. The company raised $3.35 million in seed funding at the end of 2021, with investors including Backed VC, Animoca Brands, and Stride.VC, Entrée Capital, and professional footballer Chris Smalling. This funding allowed Footium to expand its team and develop the game to new heights.
