Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) (Lithuania)

The MLRO based in Lithuania will report to the Chief Compliance Officer in the United States and provide expertise to maintain a compliance management system commensurate with the organization’s size, complexity and money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions and fraud risk profile while accomplishing business objectives in the European Union regions.

This role is fully remote, but must be located in Lithuania.

Responsibilities

 Develop and maintain a financial crimes compliance risk management framework, with focus on anti-money laundering, counter terrorist financing and sanctions, to align with emerging trends, business strategy and growth by optimizing processes and implementing data-driven, technology-oriented and programmatic approaches that strengthen the effectiveness and scalability of compliance and fraud controls.

 Develop, enhance and execute financial crimes compliance program components, including regulatory change management, risk assessments, policies, procedures, monitoring, testing, issue management and training.

 Liaise with regulators, law enforcement and other government agencies.

 Perform timely root cause analysis and remediation of financial crimes compliance exceptions.

 Partner with stakeholders across the organization to develop innovative and effective solutions in accomplishing compliance and business objectives.

 Maintain deep understanding of regulatory and industry developments and perform risk and impact assessments to validate compliance with laws, regulations and company standards.

 Develop compliance reports, including to management and the Board, to provide understanding of material topics, trends, risks.

 Identify and support implementation of technology and data-driven solutions and analytical methods to facilitate compliance with current and anticipated applicable laws and regulations.

 Provide leadership and mentorship to develop others and uplift the organization’s compliance intelligence.

 Managing regulatory or third-party audits and due diligence.

Requirements

 Resides in Lithuania

 University degree required; advanced degree (Law) a plus

 ACAMS, CFCS or other relevant certification a plus

 7+ years of relevant AML experience (prior MLRO experience a plus)

 Extensive knowledge and expertise of global financial institutions, crypto, electronic money institutions, payments or banking compliance

 Experienced and ability to be hands on in developing processes, policies and procedures

 Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders, including strengths in influencing, conflict management, and negotiation

 Ability to communicate complex matters in a simple, concise and clear manner

 Takes ownership of outcomes and the ability to drive high performance

 Skilled at identifying and recommending cost effective solutions and organizing resource allocation

 Extensive experience in partnering with and counseling senior executives

 Strong problem solving and operational process skills and attention to detail

 Excellent ability to analyze regulatory risks in complex business processes and recommend pragmatic and effective controls to mitigate those risks

 Excellent presentation and project management skills with the ability to successfully work multiple priorities simultaneously

 High energy and creativity and the desire and ability to work in a growing and changing environment

 Ability to operate with strong integrity with the ability to handle projects of a sensitive and confidential nature

 Responsive and timely in satisfying commitments and responsibilities

 Strong computer and technical skills; data analytic
