We are seeking an experienced Engineering leader to join our team in San Francisco. In this role, you will lead and mentor multiple engineering teams, both on-site and remote, while driving technical excellence and innovation across our organization.
This is a hybrid-onsite position, based out of our soon-to-be-opened office in the heart of San Francisco.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple software engineering teams, providing technical direction, mentorship, and career development opportunities
- Drive hiring initiatives and organizational scaling efforts, including building and implementing recruitment strategies
- Own the delivery of complex technical services and ensure successful project execution
- Define and assign tasks, establish clear performance metrics, and provide regular constructive feedback
- Create and maintain a collaborative, inclusive, and positive team culture across both local and remote teams
- Contribute to product strategy and roadmap development through technical expertise and market understanding
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business objectives
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration between teams and departments
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years in engineering leadership roles
- Proven track record of successfully scaling engineering organizations and teams
- Experience leading both on-site and remote engineering teams
- Strong technical background with deep understanding of software engineering principles and best practices
- Demonstrated success in shipping complex services and technical products
- Excellence in people management, including performance evaluation and professional development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence across all levels of the organization
- Experience in technical roadmap development and strategic planning
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Track record of successful hiring and team building in competitive markets
- Experience managing teams across multiple time zones
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Previous experience in fast-paced, high-growth technology companies
Base Salary Range: $190,000 - $260,000/yr
This position can be considered across multiple levels. Total compensation at DFINITY consists of base salary + generous bonus and is determined based on multiple factors including job leveling, areas of expertise, educational background, geographic location and overall experience.
