The Director of Procurement will lead the transformation of procurement operations, ensuring streamlined, efficient processes that align with organizational objectives. This role will focus on strategic supplier engagement, process optimization, and contract negotiation to drive cost savings and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have experience negotiating contracts and optimizing procurement strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement Leadership
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support business growth.
- Continuously assess procurement processes, identifying opportunities for automation, consolidation, and improvement.
- Partner with senior leadership to align procurement strategies with corporate objectives.
Contract Negotiation & Vendor Management
- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, ensuring compliance with company policies and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance, risk mitigation, and alignment with business needs.
- Develop and implement best practices for supplier onboarding, contract renewals, and performance management.
Process Optimization & Data-Driven Decision Making
- Leverage procurement data analytics to inform decision-making, optimize sourcing strategies, and drive savings.
- Standardize and enhance procurement procedures, including due diligence, RFP templates, and vendor evaluation frameworks.
- Oversee procurement technology tools to drive efficiency and accuracy in purchasing and vendor management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with stakeholders across departments to understand procurement needs and develop tailored solutions.
- Provide strategic guidance on supplier selection, cost efficiencies, and business continuity.
- Lead efforts to consolidate procurement activities and identify cost-saving opportunities across the organization.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required.
- Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of procurement experience, with a focus on strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and process optimization.
- Proven ability to lead and implement procurement initiatives that drive efficiency and cost savings.
- Advanced knowledge of procurement best practices, contract negotiation strategies, and supplier management.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights.
- Experience with procurement tools, reporting systems, and digital RFP management platforms.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across all internal departments.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a services-based environment with a focus on vendor management and supply chain optimization.
- Familiarity with procurement technology and automation tools.
