Are you an experienced full stack or front-end engineer seeking a new challenge? Do you want to play a pivotal role in crafting tools and products designed to assist on-the-ground communities in regenerating the earth through sustainable agricultural and nature-based solutions? Are you interested in making a positive impact on the world while enjoying the freedom to work remotely?
At Regen Network, we're revolutionizing how humanity interacts with the environment by building a global platform for planetary stewardship. Our technology stack combines cutting-edge distributed ledger systems, remote sensing capabilities, and modern web technologies to create a transparent and verifiable system for ecological outcomes.
Our platform serves as crucial infrastructure for the growing regenerative agriculture and nature-based solutions markets, enabling stakeholders to track, verify, and reward positive ecological impact. By joining our team, you'll have the opportunity to work remotely while contributing to meaningful climate solutions at a global scale.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be joining a small and agile team building our web based application (app.regen.network), to create user experiences for farmers, land stewards, and the buyers funding next-gen climate solutions.
You will build and maintain web applications using state of the art technologies (React + Typescript + GraphQL with a Node and PostgreSQL backend is our current stack), write reusable components, ensure solid test coverage, and actively participate in code reviews. Additionally, you’ll be building Node services that serve as a gateway to our decentralized ecosystem, and expose REST or GraphQL APIs for our front end applications to access data.
Outside of core application development you will work closely with our product & design team, building out key features in our product roadmap such as:
- Implementing organization management systems with advanced permission settings to support multi-stakeholder contributions
- Building integrations between our L1 blockchain, Regen Ledger, and web application to display verified ecological impact data about the projects and credits issued on the network
- Create interoperability solutions with partner platforms and other applications in ecological monitoring & data management space
- Enhance our project page “data feed” with improved data visualization and reporting capabilities to allow project developers to publish relevant data and ecological claims to their profile
- Improved usability of our app’s blockchain functionality for users logged in with email & SSO accounts
You’re an ideal candidate if...
- You thrive in remote, self-directed work environments and can collaborate effectively across multiple time zones
- You enjoy tackling complex technical challenges and can break them down into manageable solutions
- You’re excited about joining a team with a strong culture of self reflection and capacity building — we take a lot of inspiration from Carol Sanford’s Regenerative Business work
- You’re passionate about fighting climate change and other environmental problems — knowledge of permaculture, regenerative agriculture, or ecology is a bonus
We are currently looking for applicants in European or US time zones (where the tech team currently is located) to allow for good communication, and minimal scheduling issues.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years professional front-end and/or full stack development experience
- You should be comfortable working across any part of our web application stack - in particular React, CSS, TypeScript, GraphQL, Apollo, Next.js, Tailwind CSS
- Experience with dApp/Web3 development, in particular integrating with Cosmos SDK blockchains
- Experience with Node.js, Express and PostgreSQL is a plus
- You have experience working closely with design & product teams following agile methodologies, but can be comfortable taking initiative and organizing your own work
- Having a keen eye for detail when it comes to implementing visual components
- Mobile-first / responsive design is a priority
- You enjoy learning and digging into open source code, committing on other projects
- Good written communication in English
- Previous experience working remotely and/or leading teams is a plus
Benefits
Our engineering team is well-known and respected in both the open source agricultural technology and Cosmos (blockchain) ecosystems for our leadership in technical design and implementation. Should you be interested, we are happy to mentor you in many aspects of our systems including code architecture and building backwards-compatible systems for an immutable ledger without getting stuck in quicksand.
Outside of the development team, there are experts with decades of experience in sustainability and regenerative ecology who are more than happy to share insights with you, and discuss paths to a positive future.
This is a full-time position with a four-day work week and flexible work environment. We offer a competitive salary package that includes participation in an employee stock compensation plan and REGEN token grant program. Other benefits may vary based on location.
