We're looking for the right person…

Are you passionate about designing and maintaining the backbone of highly scalable, secure, and reliable systems? Do you thrive in a hands-on environment, tinkering with Linux internals, debugging complex networks, and automating infrastructure with the latest tooling? If you’re eager to shape the core infrastructure of a cutting-edge fintech platform—and work closely with a stellar team to revolutionize web3 finance—we want to hear from you!

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure solutions that ensure the reliability and scalability of our data-intensive fintech systems.
Workingvery closelywith Linux—handling everything from CLI troubleshooting to security hardening and firewall configuration.
Building and automating processes for networking, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments in GCP.
Ensuring high database performance and reliability for mission-critical financial data—leveraging Postgres, AlloyDB, and other relational databases.
Debugging and optimizing systems at scale—identifying performance bottlenecks, refining configurations, and employing best-in-class monitoring solutions.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams (backend, data, security) to enhance platform reliability and developer productivity.
Staying up to date on industry trends, emerging tools, and best practices in cloud infrastructure, security, and DevOps.

Strong Software Development Background
We’re looking for a seasoned infrastructure engineer who thinks like a developer (You’ll need to bridge the gap between infrastructure and development teams). You should have a deep understanding of software development principles and be able to write code to automate infrastructure tasks. Experience with programming languages such as Go and TypeScript is required.

5+ yearsof experience in infrastructure/DevOps or related backend engineering roles.
Advanced knowledge ofLinux internalsand command-line tooling; you don’t flinch at compilation errors or system-level debugging.
Strong fundamentals innetworking—familiarity with OSI/TCP/IP models, traceroute, and packet inspection.
Hands-on experience withGCP(or other major clouds), including VPC, GKE, networking, and security configurations.
Proficiency inInfrastructure as Code(e.g., Pulumi, Terraform) to build, automate, and maintain reliable deployments.
Experience withcontainerization(Docker, K8s) and source code management (Git/GitHub).
DBA skills: in-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL or AlloyDB—configuration, indexing, scaling, and query optimization.
Familiarity with setting up and running large ETL pipelines or complex workflows is a plus.
A track record of debugging production issues, optimizing system performance, and implementing robust monitoring and alerting.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills—you enjoy working in startups and have been part of a team during its growth stage.
Previous experience at a fintech or building accounting/financial systems is a plus.
A love for hands-on, in-office collaboration with other engineers in Toronto (we’ll consider remote across Canada in special cases).
