We're seeking an AML Associate responsible for working within prescribed BSA/AML procedures to conduct client onboarding reviews - with a particular focus on complex business and institutional entities, transaction monitoring, and ongoing monitoring of high value clients through regular enhanced due diligence reviews. This position will play a critical role in reviewing alerts, customer documentation, and customer behaviors. The AML Associate compiles evidence and documentation in compliance with BSA/AML procedures and regulatory reporting requirements. This role analyzes, researches, and documents relevant data to facilitate efficient client onboarding and risk mitigation procedures. The AML Associate will also draft suspicious activity reports for reporting, where applicable.
Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate documentation for new customer onboarding, CDD, and EDD, including, but not limited to, source of funds, proof of address, purpose of transacting, and occupation
- Provide timely responses to new customer onboarding, CDD, and EDD review requests
- Maintain constant communication with the business during the review process
- Perform periodic EDD reviews for designated customers
- Assist in account manager correspondence
- Review transaction monitoring alerts received through various platforms
- Utilize blockchain analytics tools to investigate and mitigate risk
- Evaluate and investigate documentation to determine if activity is suspicious
- Draft suspicious activity reports where applicable
- Record all investigations and supporting information in case management software
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience in AML, whether in traditional finance or cryptocurrency
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adhere to deadlines
- Understand and demonstrate the importance of financial and regulatory compliance
- Attention to detail
- Analytical and data-oriented approach to decision making
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
Nice to Have:
- College degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred
- Experience in a fintech environment
- Previous work experience analyzing datasets
- Have a basic knowledge of cryptocurrency and applicable rules and regulations
Base salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 USD
