Job Description
As a Senior IT Service Desk Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of IT services by acting as an escalation point for the Tier 1 Service Desk team. You will leverage your deep technical expertise to resolve complex issues, collaborate cross-functionally to drive service improvements, and uphold the principles of Service Delivery and Service Operations. This role is 100% technical, requiring hands-on experience with a broad range of IT tools and platforms.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Serve as the primary escalation point for Tier 1 Service Desk team members, working alongside a team of Senior GSD Engineers to resolve advanced technical issues efficiently.
- Leverage deep experience in Jira to manage ticketing workflows, track incidents, and optimize service operations.
- Identify, build, analyze and deliver KPIs using tools like eazyBI or Looker
- Apply Service Operations best practices to ensure consistent and reliable IT support.
- Demonstrate Service Delivery principles, including ITIL practices such as Service Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and Incident Management, to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IT support processes.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and administration for:
- Google Admin / GSuite
- Okta and Duo (Identity and Access Management)
- MacOS and ChromeOS
- Jamf (macOS endpoint managment)
- Slack (collaboration tools)
- Work cross-functionally with teams such as Security, Engineering, and Business Operations to identify and address IT challenges.
- Drive continuous improvements by analyzing recurring issues and proposing long-term solutions.
- Document resolutions and best practices to contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Participate in on-call rotations as needed to support critical IT operations and VIP support
What We Look For In You:
- 3+ years of experience in a global IT Service Desk environment
- Proven expertise in Jira Service Management or similar ticketing systems.
- Strong understanding of Service Operations and Service Delivery frameworks.
- Extensive experience administering and troubleshooting Google Admin, GSuite, Okta, Duo, macOS, Jamf, ChromeOS, and Slack.
- Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with multiple teams to resolve issues and improve IT processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of documenting processes and collaborating effectively with stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of technical excellence.
Nice To Haves:
- IT certifications related to Google Admin, Jamf, Okta, or IT Service Management frameworks (e.g., ITIL, HDI).
- Experience with automation and scripting to improve IT support workflows using tools such as Moveworks and Workato
- Background in cybersecurity best practices for IT service management.
