Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee operational support on all aspects of issuing and acquiring chargebacks;
- Appropriate escalation of bad debt incidents relating to issuing and acquiring chargebacks;
- Ensure streamlined approach is implemented and maintained within the team;
- All team members cross trained to work at a high standard;
- Ensure adequate processes in place to identify risks and make recommendations to effectively manage and enhance recovery of bad debt relating to acquiring and issuing chargebacks;
- Assist in strategic development of the team, proactively implementing changes to improve the recoveries process;
- Oversee the investigation of potential technical issues which could result in a loss of representment rights;
- Liaise with internal teams to address and reduce bad debt caused by system issues and manual processing errors relating to acquiring and issuing chargebacks;
- Review fraud trends on card deposits and recommend changes to prevent future potential losses;
- Maintain a sound understanding of the bad debt contributors in relation to card deposits;
- Ensure accurate management reporting on both sides - acquiring and issuing
- Enhance automation of current processes through the acquisition of new technologies or improvements to current technologies;
- Establish and maintain effective communication networks with key stakeholders, business partners and peers;
- Act as the key point of escalation for any high-level issues that affect Risk Operations and deal with these escalations in accordance with company policies and procedures;
- Work closely with Risk Management teams- Risk Analytics and Projects team, as well as Risk dedicated product owners;
- Oversee and support risk related projects, suggest and spearhead vendor solution pilots, and co-ordinate initiatives to automate manual processes;
- Escalate appropriately to the attention of the Chargeback analyst cases that relate but are not limited to: Bad debt & bad debt increase; Systems outages or failure; Breach of internal systems; Employee misconduct and failure to comply with company’s policies in place; Others related to potential financial and reputational risks for the company;
- Perform other duties as required as well as adhoc projects - lead and/or participation in business unit projects.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in the field of fintech risk controls is a plus;
- The Chargeback analyst should preferably have basic knowledge of the applicable legislation in the field of fintech business – payment instruments and e-money issuers, etc;
- The Chargeback analyst must have a reasonable understanding of the Company’s business, its technical, financial and organizational structure;
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels both inside and outside the Company;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills, decision making skills, effective problem-solving skills, as well as skills to work independently and in team.
