The opportunity:
Uphold is looking for a People Generalist to join our Global People Team in the U.S.,reporting to the Global VP, People. This is a great opportunity to provide support to our People team, streamline operations to drive efficiency and productivity, help contribute to our employee’s growth and development, and foster a positive workplace culture. This role will partner with leadership in the United States. The ideal candidate will have an analytical approach, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to interpret data trends and themes.
Key responsibilities:
- Onboarding and offboarding: Manage full employee lifecycle: onboarding, new employee orientation, updating applicable systems such as Confluence, reviewing onboarding surveys, and providing recommendations to improve processes. Manage off-boarding including conducting background checks, exit surveys and references, and providing recommendations based on exit interview data.
- People Team processes: Accountable for People Team processes such as talent development, succession planning, performance assessments, onboarding, culture and engagement initiatives that drive high performing teams.
- Trusted advisor: Proven track record of establishing a trusted partnership with regional leaders. Skilled in working with managers and Global VP, People, across the business on performance management, change management, organizational design, employee engagement, rewards and workforce planning. Proven track record of coaching and advising people managers on the full spectrum of employee relations issues in the region.
- Policies and Procedure: Design new policies, update existing polices and ensure there are current SOPs for the region, and partner with global counterparts for consistency where applicable.
- Data analysis: Proven track record utilizing data and analytics to analyze trends and metrics, and partner with Global VP of People, regional Directors, People and leaders to assist in developing solutions, programs and policies based on the data.
- Payroll: Lead payroll processing for over 90 U.S employees and collaborate with Finance and Accounting on payroll and tax issues, and merit and bonus processes. Knowledge of Bamboo payroll is a plus.
- Vendor relations: Oversee vendor relations with office management, total rewards vendors, system vendors. Analyze data and provide recommendations on contracts, renewals and office space needs.
- Compliance: Oversee compliance and training requirements in close collaboration with the CCO, CFO, and Global VP of People. â¨
- Talent Acquisition & Employee Branding: Partner with our Talent Acquisition Team on hiring needs in the U.S. Contribute to the development and implementation of employer branding initiatives to attract top talent and magnify the company's reputation as a great place to work.
- Employee relations: Address employee inquiries promptly and effectively, providing accurate information and guidance on People-related matters. First point of contact for employee relations inquiries and escalations. Document and refer complex and/or sensitive matters to the Global, VP, People.
- Internship program: Assist with internship program, including organization, onboarding and ongoing support, to ensure a valuable experience for interns.
- Training and development: Collaborate and partner with managers to identify training needs and coordinate training initiatives to improve employee skills and capabilities, promoting professional growth and development.
- Global People Team Partnership: Proven track record of effectively partnering with cross-functional, global People Team members on projects and initiatives to drive global consistency.
- Employee benefits/total rewards: Assist with benchmarking, establish new partnerships, and maintain vendor relations and maintenance of the employee benefits program. Participate in benefits administration and open enrollment process and merit and bonus cycles.
- Event planning: Plan and organize company events, team-building activities, and celebrations to promote employee engagement and a sense of community.
- Business Acumen: Stay current on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations to ensure actions recommended are in compliance to minimize legal risks to the Company.
Required qualifications:
- Degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
- 5+ years of generalist experience in Human Resources/People Team.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Google Suite.
- Strong organizational, time management and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proven track record working with various levels of management.
- Experience working in a global and hybrid organization.â¨
- Experience in strategically analyzing metrics to drive improvements.â¨
- Solid experience balancing between leading and executing, and being hands-on involved in the daily People Team initiatives.
Bonus if you have:
- Additional HR training or certifications.
- Experience in FinTech industry.
- Experience with immigration policies and mobility processes
- Knowledge of Bamboo HR System, and Lattice.
