Job Description
The ideal candidate has experience testing critical trading systems, is proficient with both Windows and Linux and is highly motivated to learn all aspects of the platform being tested. Candidate has experience developing software in various programming languages and good understanding of the development lifecycle. The candidate should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment which calls for flexibility.
The right candidate is responsible for:
- Develop and maintain code of proprietary java application.
- Evaluate system requirements, development unit test plans and process flow and translate into technical quality assurance test cases. Conduct quality assurance testing and analysis throughout the life cycle to all systems integration, software, database, and infrastructure changes.
- Develop, implement and maintain test plans and test scripts to make certain a high level of quality to all users and supporting infrastructure.
- Understand full system architecture to set up and configure test environments for testing.
- Perform functional, regression and system integration testing.
- Utilize proven quality assurance techniques, best practices, standards and troubleshooting methods.
- Document defects and thoroughly communicate to the teams involved.
- Communicate and work closely with Development and Infrastructure teams during the QA cycles.
- Proactively identify inefficiencies from the quality assurance technique or process viewpoint and propose changes that may include process redesign and tool recommendations.
- Maintain production deployment and manage deployment and related scripts.
- Configuration file and system backups.
- Help coordinate breakpoint testing.
- Responsible for Postgres database backup maintenance.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in developing software in various programming languages such as Python, Shell, C++, Java, HTML.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management tools and cloud platforms.
- Relevant experience with various web technologies, such as content management systems, cloud services, application servers, e-commerce platforms, etc.
Ideal Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient using SQL.
- Experience using Git.
- Experience with AWS.
- Experience working in Linux and proficient in using Linux commands.
- Experience using test automation tools such as Jenkins.
- Detailed familiarity with QA methodologies, including testing experience with client/server, and java-based applications.
- Ability to effectively work with development team with varying technical abilities.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and determine any dependencies.
- Must be very detail oriented and have strong problem finding, resolution, and documentation skills.
- Have strong self-motivation, work ethic, and teamwork mentality with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
- Experience working in team environment.
- Possesses excellent communication, written, and organizational skills.
- Finance industry experience/knowledge.

Our pay ranges are determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, role, experience, level, and location. The national new hire base pay range for this job in the United States is $93,500-$115,500. This range represents the minimum and maximum base pay the company expects to offer for new hires working in the position full time. If you live in one of the following areas or if you work in a Cboe office in the following areas, the range may be higher according to the geographic differentials listed below:
US Geographic Differentials:
- 110%: Austin TX, Chicago IL, Denver CO, San Diego CA
- 115%: Los Angeles CA, Seattle WA
- 120%: Boston MA, Washington DC
Within the range, individual pay is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
