OVERALL ROLE PURPOSE
This role will be responsible for managing the accounting and administrative functions of Wirex Digital Services SRL, the Italian entity of the Wirex Group. As well as support on preparing monthly management accounts for the Wirex Global group. You will ensure compliance with Italian accounting standards, tax obligations, and regulatory requirements, while providing support to the group finance function.
You will act as the main contact for our external accounting and tax advisors in Italy, oversee day-to-day financial administration, and assist with commercial activities to ensure smooth business operations.
As Wirex Italy is currently a registered VASP and in the process of applying to become a CASP under the European MiCAR regulation, you will also play a key role in ensuring that financial and administrative processes align with evolving regulatory requirements.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITES OF THE ROLE
- Manage daily accounting activities of Wirex Digital Services SRL in coordination with external accountants and the Group finance team.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of statutory accounts, VAT returns, tax filings, and regulatory submissions in compliance with Italian law.
- Supporting Global Finance team on preparing monthly management accounts for SRL (Italy) and Global Group and monthly Global Group.
- Monitor and process supplier invoices, payments, expenses, and bank reconciliations.
- Liaise with external tax and accounting advisors for compliance with local obligations (e.g. tax, social contributions, statutory filings).
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and management reports for both local and group reporting purposes.
- Ensure proper record-keeping and documentation of all administrative and accounting activities.
- Assist in the commercial administration of the Italian entity, including supplier and client contracts, invoicing, and payment tracking.
- Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to align financial processes with regulatory requirements for VASP/CASP operations under MiCAR.
- Provide support to group audits and regulatory reviews when required.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in an accounting/administrative role, preferably within an international or financial services company.
- Solid knowledge of Italian accounting principles, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Experience working with external accountants and tax advisors.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and strong Excel skills.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across teams and with external partners.
- Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken).
- Experience in a FinTech, financial services, or regulated environment would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of VASP/CASP regulatory frameworks and/or MiCAR regulation highly desirable.
