We are seeking a Director, Head of Solutions to act as the senior authority responsible for designing, building, and evolving client solution platforms. This role owns the translation of solution intent into cohesive, scalable, and secure client platforms, spanning multiple products, integrations, and deployment models.
This role, together with the Service team ensures that Blockstream’s solutions are not only well-architected, but buildable, extensible, and operationally sound across multiple client platforms.
What You’ll Be Doing (Responsibilities)
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team to scale the delivery of financial services solutions.
- Own the solution platform architecture and build strategy for enterprise and institutional client platforms across banking, custody, payments, and digital asset environments.
- Lead the execution and lifecycle of client platform builds, translating architectural vision into concrete implementations, deployments, and scaled production platforms.Ensure that solution platforms preserve the security, trust assumptions, and operational guarantees of Blockstream’s Bitcoin-native and Layer-2 infrastructure
- Act as the senior authority on how Blockstream products are composed into end-to-end client platforms
- Director, Head of Delivery to ensure solutions are buildable, deliverable, and operable at scale
- External vendors, market infrastructure, and third-party services
- Deployment models (on-prem, hybrid, cloud)
- Guide platform build approaches across DevOps, CI/CD, security, and environment design
- Serve as the primary escalation point for solution-level design risks, cross-platform dependencies, and architectural trade-offs
- Dependencies and sequencing across solutions
- Act as a key feedback conduit to Product & Engineering, influencing roadmap decisions based on platform realities and reuse opportunities
- Support executive briefings, architecture reviews, and client workshops as the senior platform authority
What We Look for In You (Required Qualifications)
- 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, platform design, or large-scale system implementation within banking or financial services
- Enterprise Architect
- Deep experience designing and building multi-system, multi-platform solutions in regulated environments
- Strong understanding of how to compose products, integrations, and services into cohesive client platforms
- Containerization and modern deployment models
- Data orchestration and consistency models
- Demonstrated ability to bridge solution vision, technical architecture, and build execution
- Strong grasp of security, resiliency, and compliance requirements in institutional environments
- Proven leadership in building and managing high-performing teams, stakeholder management, and decision-making capabilities
- Delivery and commercial peers
- Self-starter with proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and geographies, demonstrating high-quality and high-touch customer engagement throughout all phases of delivery
- Languages: Swiss German or German and English required; French and/or Italian a plus
- Location: Switzerland, with focus on Zurich and Zug
