Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with a wide range of legal and regulatory matters, including regulatory perimeter assessments, licensing and registration applications, product assessments, regulatory investigations, advertising, and consumer protection advice, specifically related to the provision of crypto-asset services and other financial services in Greece and the EU.
- Provide legal and regulatory guidance to local and global business teams on product launches and marketing campaigns, including advising on regulatory scope under MiCA and recommending necessary adjustments.
- Draft and review product terms to ensure compliance with applicable MiCA requirements and other regulatory standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships through effective contract management, budget oversight, and timely legal support.
- Stay current with applicable laws and regulations in Greece and the EU, particularly in the fast-evolving crypto regulatory environment, to provide strategic, forward-looking advice and promote compliance.
- Proactively identify legal and regulatory risks and solutions, offering strategic support to local business teams.
- Collaborate closely with legal team members across different time zones to provide continuous legal support globally.
- Manage relationships with external counsel in Greece and other jurisdictions as needed.
- Represent the company in court proceedings or regulatory hearings in Greece when required, ensuring the company’s interests are effectively protected and advocated.
Requirements
- Lawyer admitted to the Greek Bar.
- 5-10 years of post-qualification experience.
- Graduated from a top university, preferably holding a Master’s degree in Financial, Technology, or Regulatory Law.
- Experience working at a top-tier international law firm is preferred.
- Prior experience in the crypto, FinTech, or blockchain industries is highly advantageous.
- Experience liaising with Greek financial regulatory authorities and understanding of local regulatory frameworks, is a strong plus.
- Pragmatic, independent, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, global organization.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams, locations, and cultures.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
