Pantera Capital is the first institutional investment firm focused exclusively on bitcoin, other digital currencies, and companies in the blockchain tech ecosystem. Pantera is hiring a Trader to help execute trades across spot, derivatives, and structured products while managing risk, P&L, and market relationships. This role will help optimize trading strategies, provide real-time insights, and ensure efficient execution and operation. This role requires presence at least three days a week in our San Francisco office.
Responsibilities:
- Execute trades in digital assets (spot, derivatives, and structured products) across centralized and decentralized venues in line with portfolio manager directives.
- Monitor orders, market conditions, and liquidity to ensure efficient trade execution.
- Provide real-time market color and trading insights to the investment team.
- Manage exposure, risk limits, and P&L related to assigned trading strategies.
- Maintain relationships with counterparties, exchanges, and liquidity providers.
- Support trade settlement, reconciliation, and operational processes to ensure accuracy.
- Track and analyze trading performance, slippage, and transaction costs to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with researchers, portfolio managers, and operations teams to implement trading strategies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a trading-related role.
- Familiarity with both traditional finance (equities, derivatives) and crypto-native products (perpetual swaps, staking, spot).
- Comfort with trading APIs and execution management systems.
- Understanding of DeFi protocols and smart contract risk.
- Experience with data analysis libraries (pandas) and SQL for trade/performance analytics.
- High attention to detail while executing at speed.
- Strong communication skills to give clear, concise market updates to PMs and risk committees.
- Entrepreneurial mindset — willingness to experiment with new trading tools and venues.
Compensation:
$150,000 - $200,000 USD*
