Position Summary
We are looking for a Finance Associate to join us in Hong Kong. This role will own day-to-day accounting operations across a defined set of group entities and financial control functions, working closely with the Deputy Head of Finance. The role suits a hands-on, process-oriented finance professional who is genuinely interested in technology and capable of building and maintaining automated workflows, not just operating within them.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Own month-end book closing for various legal entities in Asia, Middle East and Europe; produce accurate, timely, and audit-ready financial records.
- Support corporate group reporting, including the preparation and review of consolidation inputs across multiple legal entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with group reporting deadlines.
- Manage the AR and AP processes by maintaining bank matrix, AR and AP schedules and reconciliations, and other financial operations control points.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors across multiple jurisdictions, in close collaboration with the Deputy Head of Finance on documentation, schedules, and auditor interface.
- Design and implement finance workflow automations using AI tools.
- Support broader group reporting, regulatory compliance tasks, and ad hoc finance projects as directed by the Deputy Head of Finance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification (completed or actively in progress) is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience; prior exposure to big 4 auditing, financial services, digital asset businesses, or a multi-entity regulated environment is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to digital assets or crypto accounting is an advantage; candidates from financial services or multi-entity regulated environments with strong technical accounting foundations are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated experience implementing AI tools within finance workflows, with practical examples across areas such as reconciliation, reporting automation, or exception flagging, is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Workday or a comparable ERP system (Xero, NetSuite, SAP) is an advantage.
- Solid grounding in multi-entity accounting, intercompany processes, and group consolidation; experience supporting external audit and tax compliance coordination across multiple jurisdictions is an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with AI tools applied to finance workflows is an advantage.
- Strong written and spoken English; Cantonese or Mandarin proficiency is a practical advantage given the team's Hong Kong base and the broader regional entity footprint.
