About Safello
Established in 2013, Safello is the leading cryptocurrency brokerage in the Nordics and authorized as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) under the EU Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCA). Safello operates at the intersection of traditional finance and digital assets — and compliance sits at the very core of how we build and grow. The parent company, Safello Group AB, has been listed on Nasdaq First North Growth Market since 2021.
The Role
As Compliance Officer at Safello, you will own and drive our compliance function across a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape. You will be the go-to expert on AML/CTF and MiCA related matters, to ensure that our operations, products and commercial relationships meet regulatory requirements and that recent regulatory developments are monitored. In addition to ensuring that Safello’s internal framework and compliance procedures are up to par, reporting to the board and CEO as well as educating the organization on compliance matters, you will work closely with the operations, product and the tech team — and you won't shy away from rolling up your sleeves to assist the operations with advice when needed.
This is a senior, high-ownership role reporting directly to executive leadership, with significant influence over how compliance is embedded across the business.
About You
- Master of Laws degree
- 5+ years of experience from compliance- or legal roles within a fintech company or other regulated financial services in Sweden
- Experience implementing AML/CTF and sanctions frameworks, as well as relevant financial regulation such as MiFID or PSD2, is a requirement. Experience with MiCA, crypto-assets, and MAR is an advantage.
- Commercially minded — you understand that compliance enables business, not just constrains it
- Able to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear advice for technical and non-technical teams
- Proactive and self-driven; you identify gaps and quickly drive to fix them
- Fluent in Swedish and English — Swedish is a requirement for this role
- You are Stockholm-based.
Why Join Us?
- Real ownership: Shape compliance at a regulated, crypto asset service provider at a pivotal moment in European crypto regulation
- MiCA at the frontier: We are one of the first MiCA-authorized CASPs in the Nordics and the only one with a MiCA license issued by Finansinspektionen
- Lean and fast: Small team, short decision paths, and direct access to leadership
Not a fit if you:
- Want a large compliance team where someone else sets the agenda
- Are looking for a purely box-ticking role with no commercial interface
- Are uncomfortable working closely to the operations
