DRW is currently seeking an Associate General Counsel to join the Legal team in our Chicago office.
Core Duties:
- VC Investments: This role will work closely with the DRW Venture Capital team, advising on term sheets, managing negotiation and execution of definitive documents, and providing post-execution support. This role will also support the development of new incubated companies, from formation to legal support for operations.
- Joint Ventures and M&A: This role will support DRW in structuring and negotiating joint ventures, acquisitions and other strategic initiatives. This will involve close coordination with internal subject matter experts, internal support groups and outside counsel.
- Commercial Contracts: Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of contracts, including trading related agreements, software licenses, AI resources, data licenses and other technology agreements, data-privacy related agreements, leases, services agreements, vendor agreements, confidentiality agreements and other commercial contracts.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 4+ years of transactional experience at a U.S. law firm
- Experience with transactional work relating to trading, finance, technology and/or digital assets is a plus
- Experience utilizing AI legal tools is a plus, willingness to learn and use more is required
- In-office presence in Chicago at least 4 days per week
- Must be comfortable working on unique transactions on tight timelines
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the firm
The annual base salary range for this position is $200,000 to $300,000 depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and relevant skill set. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
