About the Team:
The Market Operations team is responsible for overseeing the launch strategy and deployment of Worldcoin in different markets. The Market Ops team also serves as the primary point of contact for local Operators, running Operator recruitment and selection, supporting Operators, and ensuring optimal performance. Overall, the Market Ops team is on the frontlines of Worldcoin’s ambitious mission of global, inclusive, and rapid distribution of the Worldcoin token.
The Market Ops team is broken up into two sub-teams: (1) Expansion Operations team and (2) Growth Operations. Both teams provide input into the growth strategy. Once a new market is selected, the Expansion Operations team focuses on entering that market, from recruiting Orb Operators to running local marketing initiatives. Then the Growth Operations team steps in, focusing on scaling within the new market by generating inbound and outbound initiatives to drive user adoption and improve Orb efficiency. This role falls within the scope of Growth Operations
About the Opportunity:
As our Business Development Manager, Japan, you’ll be responsible for establishing and nurturing strategic partnerships to develop new distribution models aimed at scaling our objectives of verifying individuals and distributing the Worldcoin token. Additionally, the role will involve developing partnerships to generate use cases for world ID
The ideal candidate will support the development and execution of strategies to drive business growth and enhance the implementation of our technology
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and potential partners to grow the world ID network in Japan . This includes but is not limited to, sourcing large scale Orb distribution partners, world ID integration and real-life WLD use cases.
- Support the development and implementation of business development strategies and plans
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential strategic partners.
- Create presentations of proposals, presentations, and business cases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of business development initiatives.
- Monitor and report on the progress of business development activities, providing regular updates to the General Manager, Japan.
About You:
- You have 5+ years of relevant experience. You have succeeded in high-performance environments
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role.
- Fully fluent in Japanese and English
- You scrappy and resourceful
- You have an entrepreneurial spirit/experience with a strong growth mindset
- You have high standards and a bias toward action. You can find the context and information you need through relationships across the organization, you push for clarity and delivery, and you hold a high bar from your contributions and those of the people you work with
- You are adaptable and comfortable with a fast-paced environment
- You’re based in Tokyo, and are ready to travel across Japan.
