As an Algo Developer at Caladan you will be close to the market and surrounded by smart and motivated colleagues.
In this role you would work under the guidance of experienced quant traders and developers to productionise, monitor and improve new and existing trading strategies.
What you’ll be doing
Working as part of a small and nimble team you could be:
- monitoring & analysing production trading, reacting to market events
- observing the market and how our trades behave to generalise learnings and feedback into the trade
- help to build analysis libraries to help us gain insights into the markets, ideate on trading opportunities, and analyse ways of improving the trade
- learning and applying knowledge of market micro-structure, trading and risk management
The Ideal Candidate

Demonstrated interest in financial markets and / or data analysis
- Markets - understanding of stock, futures, options (soft)
- Data analysis - knowledge of data analysis libraries, projects, kaggle and other competitions, Python, pandas, R, etc.

Comfortable working with real world data - understanding of data quality, looking for outliers, exploring data - explore, form hypothesis, test, iterate.

Outcome-driven - likes to see the results of work having impact, vs. being fascinated with a technology in particular. What would excite you more?
- Finding a trading strategy that is consistently profitable for the next year.
- Learning rust (or language of your choice) and becoming proficient in that.

Curious, flexible and not afraid to roll up your sleeves and dig into production issues

Previous experience with quant / algo trading or research would be beneficial but not essential
