We are searching for an organized self-starter to be our new Legal Operations Assistant to support Tether’s Expansion Strategies. The Legal Operations Assistant reports to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with the Head of Expansion, fulfilling his duties in his absence. You should also be well-versed in internal operations, take minutes at meetings, forward and distribute mail as required, and prepare and file relevant documents.
To be successful as a Legal Operations Assistant, you should possess excellent communication skills and be able to juggle multiple tasks. Top candidates will have strong organizational, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Managing legal documents: the Legal Operations Assistant is responsible for managing and organizing legal documents and files, ensuring they are properly filed and accessible.
- Scheduling meetings: arranges meetings and conferences, both in-person and virtual, with clients, attorneys, and other legal professionals.
- Billing and invoicing: assists in preparing billing and invoicing statements, tracking expenses and payments, and ensuring that billing guidelines are followed.
- Coordinating with external partners: coordinates with external partners such as outside counsel, vendors, and government agencies.
- Conducting legal research: conducts legal research to support attorneys and legal teams in preparing for cases.
- Drafting legal documents: assists in drafting legal documents such as investment agreements, MoU, contracts, and other diverse sets of agreements.
- Maintaining legal databases: maintains legal databases and ensures they are up-to-date and accurate.
- Providing administrative support: provides administrative support to legal teams, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and taking minutes of meetings.
- Ensuring compliance: ensures compliance with legal requirements and regulations, including those related to data privacy and security.
- Managing technology: helps managing the technology used in the legal department, including legal software applications and hardware.
- LLM in Law and Economics, or related fields with knowledge / specialization on blockchain and cryptocurrency.
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or Legal Operations Assistant is preferred.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Georgian.
- Proficient in Google Suite.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Familiarity with legal operations and project management methodologies is a plus.
