In this role, you will drive the vision and strategy for Consumer Trade at Coinbase. Trade is analogous to Search at Google or the Mac at Apple - it’s where Coinbase started. Buying, selling, and converting crypto are most commonly used actions in the Coinbase app and drive a large percentage of user activity.
As both crypto and the personal investing landscape continue to rapidly evolve, there is a huge amount of potential to capture. This role will manage several individual contributors yet remain hands-on in improving the current offering and shaping the multi-year future of how users discover, research, trade, and reflect on their performance. Collaboration across the entire Consumer org (think: teams that manage Staking, Advanced Trade, Coinbase Card, and more) and partner orgs will be critical.
What you’ll be doing
- Owning how users discover, research, trade, and reflect on their activity and results
- Taking the core trading experience into the future, for the next billion people who come to crypto
- Developing strong intuition on what people need but don’t know how to ask for
- Managing a team of product managers to continuously improve experiences
- Partnering with design, engineering, marketing, and more teams to innovate
- Developing multi-year roadmaps around with high business impact
What we look for in you
- 8+ years of product management experience, including significant time spent managing people
- Strong expertise with personal finance products
- A proven track record of excellent product thinking and judgment in building high-quality consumer experiences that touch millions of users
- Strong ability and excitement to both scale up (present to execs and the board) and scale down (own and drive initiatives and solve problems directly)
- Experience working with, balancing needs, and maintaining strong relationships across a wide variety of stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability in working with a high degree of business and technical complexity across a broad product portfolio
- Demonstrated ability to ship a holistic product experience without “shipping the org chart”
- Aptitude for learning and ability to ramp quickly on new and potentially complicated domains
- Demonstrated passion for cryptocurrency, financial markets, and the Coinbase mission
Nice to Have:
- Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain-based services.
