Responsibilities
- Conduct technical and market research on across key protocols and technologies and emerging trends, delivering insights for both internal and external audiences.
- You will cultivate relationships with researchers, developers, academic institutions and investors, extending the reach of our research and laying the foundations for strategic investments and partnerships.
- Lead technical due diligence efforts to evaluate potential investments and strategic partnerships.
- Monitor and synthesise industry developments to provide strategic recommendations for investments, partnerships, and product development.
- Propose and develop innovative research topics, prioritising areas with the potential to drive significant impact in the community and on P2P's business.
- Represent P2P at conferences and events, participating in panels, networking, and identifying new opportunities for collaboration.
- Support the organisation’s strategic initiatives by contributing technical and strategic analyses of protocols, technologies, and market dynamics.
- Track and engage with blockchain protocol developments through technical documentation, GitHub repositories, governance forums, and developer communities.
- Propose proof-of-concept projects to validate research findings and explore new opportunities.
- Your ultimate goal: Become a go-to source for our team, our partners, and the wider community in your domain of expertise.
Requirements
- A Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. You must be comfortable with code and the technical aspects of protocol and smart contract development.
- Experience conducting research and analysis in crypto or across other emerging technologies.
- A demonstrated passion for and active involvement in the crypto ecosystem (e.g., publishing research, contributing to projects, or developing thought leadership)
- Open-mindedness and an ability to navigate complex, cross-disciplinary research challenges.
- Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Knowledge of tools like the Zettelkasten method for knowledge management (Nice-to-have)
- A strong network in the crypto or tech startup ecosystems (Nice-to-have)
