About the team:
You will work in the cross functional team that is responsible for making Luno the most easy and trustworthy place on the planet to buy, sell, store and use cryptocurrency, where customers feel safe and are delighted with their experience. Your role, as Senior Product Manager, will be to find customer value. You will apply the craft of Product Management to find customer problems and validate potential solutions to those problems.
The role in a nutshell:
- You empower operations at scale by automating regulatory, third party and internal processes.
- Your lean solution design ensures iterative value can be delivered to reduce reliance on manual processes and minimise operational costs.
- You strive to create a sustainable framework that supports regulatory alignment while promoting compliance and efficiency across our operations.
- You will partner with Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Anti-Financial Crime (AFC), Compliance, Onboarding Operations and other internal teams to deliver scalable solutions that align with the Risk Committee’s approved approaches to minimize customer and operational impact.
- Along with our talented team of Lunauts, you'll be responsible for designing and delivering our product roadmap.

Your mission will be:
- Creating and maintaining a high-level product roadmap, where you define product strategy based on Luno’s vision.
- Collaborate with a brilliant bunch of Product Managers from different teams.
- Building on our automation foundations by focusing on customer screening, regulatory enablement, and service audits.
- Develop and implement variable risk-based strategies to reduce friction and operational costs.
- Enhance financial crime frameworks with comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and detection systems.
- Enable compliance with incoming FSCA regulations and other geographic-specific AML risk scoring requirements.
- Automate regulatory reporting processes and establish immutable compliance reporting logs for auditability.
- Working with the engineering team to translate our product roadmap into requirements for continuous and iterative delivery.
- Continuously monitor the effectiveness of product changes and recommend improvements.
- Help facilitate growth by defining and optimising for key metrics.
A little about you:
- You have at least 5 years experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner.
- Experience with compliance operations, AML/AFC regulations, and regulatory technology (RegTech) is highly desirable.
- You take control, giving direction and taking responsibility to ensure delivery of and exercise leadership to lead change by initiating action, objectives/goals/tasks/projects.
- You are great in prioritising, planning and organising your day and can manage your time efficiently.
- Working as a team comes naturally to you – it’s all about driving cooperation and teamwork to deliver results.
- You will be the one raising your hand when it comes to creative and critical thinking and solution-driven ideas.
- In order to excel in your role, a great eye for detail is essential
- Nothing holds you back, you have a positive and friendly disposition, with a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Familiarity with cryptocurrencies is highly advantageous.
