What the role involves:
As an SDET/DevOps Engineer for the Lace Wallet, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and quality of our mobile applications while optimizing development workflows. This hybrid role combines the responsibilities of Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) and DevOps Engineer, focusing on automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and mobile performance optimization for the Lace Wallet.
You will collaborate closely with software engineers, QA, and product teams to implement robust testing strategies, enhance deployment processes, and maintain a high-performing development environment. Your work will directly impact the delivery of a seamless and engaging mobile user experience.
SDET Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites for mobile applications on iOS and Android.
- Create and execute automated end-to-end, integration, and performance tests to ensure app stability, quality, and user satisfaction.
- Collaborate with developers to implement unit tests and other testing methodologies throughout the development lifecycle.
- Investigate, analyze, and report on defects or performance issues, providing clear documentation for development teams.
- Ensure mobile applications meet quality standards by integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
DevOps Responsibilities
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline mobile application builds, testing, and deployments.
- Work closely with the development team to automate and optimize development workflows, ensuring rapid and reliable delivery.
- Monitor and optimize mobile app performance and infrastructure, addressing bottlenecks and ensuring scalability.
- Implement and maintain mobile app monitoring and logging solutions to detect errors and improve reliability in production.
- Maintain build environments for iOS, Android, and cross-platform mobile frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter).
- Support secure deployment processes, ensuring adherence to mobile security best practices.
Requirements
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of experience in test automation and DevOps, with hands-on experience supporting mobile applications (iOS and Android).
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining automated test frameworks using tools like Appium, Detox, Espresso, XCTest, or similar.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for mobile development using tools such as GitHub Actions,Jenkins, or equivalent.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as JavaScript, Python, Kotlin, Swift, or Java for test development and automation.
- Hands-on experience with app services (e.g., Google Play Store, Apple Store, Windows Store, etc.) for managing build and deployment environments.
- Proficiency in configuring mobile monitoring tools, specifically Sentry.
- Familiarity with mobile performance optimization techniques, including build times, app responsiveness, and resource management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Experience working in Agile teams and integrating testing/automation into the development lifecycle.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with development, product, and QA teams.
- Automation-Driven: Skilled in designing and implementing automated testing solutions that enhance product quality.
- CI/CD Expertise: Proficient in creating and managing pipelines to enable rapid, reliable, and secure delivery of mobile applications.
- Performance Optimization: Identifies and resolves performance bottlenecks to ensure app reliability, scalability, and responsiveness.
- Collaboration and Communication: Works effectively with cross-functional teams to align testing, deployment, and quality assurance processes.
- Problem-Solving: Analyzes and resolves technical issues quickly, ensuring minimal disruption to development workflows.
- Mobile Infrastructure: Builds and maintains efficient infrastructure for mobile application testing, monitoring, and deployment.
