Key Responsibilities
- Extend and maintain a scalable, heterogeneous infrastructure system over multiple data centers with Switches, Firewalls, HSMs, as well as physical servers, virtual devices, cloud
- Extend and maintain existing and new blockchain nodes
- Maintain storage backends
- Improve and maintain Kubernetes clusters
- Contribute to hybrid infrastructure projects
- Ensure the secure operation of backends (advanced load and fail balancing with HAProxy, Apache, and Nginx, database server replication)
- Proactively control and improve existing monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting infrastructure (Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Grafana)
- Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health
- Drive integration of secure technologies and applications
- Patch management; continually deploy new firmware and software
- Maintain and create technical documentation of infrastructure as code/data
- Technically up to date on latest technologies and cloud native environments
Requirements
- Degree in computer science or at least 5 years of experience in systems engineering
- Great interest in servers, automation, and IT security
- Enthusiasm for Linux/Unix/Container technologies and/or open-source software in general
- Knowledge of the existing open-source ecosystem (Linux, Unix, HAProxy, Nginx, Apache, Squid, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, Grafana, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proven experience in systems engineering and defensive security (DDoS protection, intrusion prevention)
- Above average project management and organisation skills
- High level of integrity and quality awareness
- Cloud (Azure, GCP) experience a plus
- Excellent knowledge of English; German is a plus
- Knowledge in blockchain technologies and crypto assets is also a plus
