Upvest, founded in 2017, enables any financial institution to offer great investment experiences to its customers. Upvest is an investment firm regulated by the German Supervision Authority (BaFin). The company currently employs 170+ people across Europe with its headquarters based in Berlin, Germany.
The company is backed by the world’s largest venture capital funds and investors including Hedosophia, Sapphire, Bessemer Venture Partners, BlackRock, Earlybird, HV Capital and Notion Capital, as well as by renowned fintech entrepreneurs (including Maximilian Tayenthal, founder of N26, and Felix Haas, founder of IDnow).
We’re looking for fintech enthusiasts to join us in creating the financial infrastructure of tomorrow. We’re building the first European Investment API to enable any financial institution to offer a wide range of efficient and transparent investment products, such as stocks and ETFs in nominal, portfolio, and fractional forms. Our mission and vision is to make investing as easy as spending money.
We’re based in Berlin but are also open to hiring remotely in Germany or London (UK) for this role. If you're currently based elsewhere but would like to move to Germany, we’re happy to support your relocation.

- Enhance our risk management strategy encompassing financial (e.g., market and counterparty risk) and non-financial (e.g., operational, compliance risks)
- Ensure adherence to BaFin, FCA, and other regulatory requirements by embedding and enhancing ICAAP, ILAAP, and ICARA frameworks within company practices
- Leverage technology and data analytics to optimize and modernize risk management processes and reporting systems
- Build and develop a high-performing risk management team to foster growth and operational excellence

- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex regulatory and risk concepts into actionable strategies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills with a focus on building high-performing teams
- Experience to build interpersonal relationships and influence and lead cross-functional discussions and decisions for real strategic and financial impact
- Deep knowledge of applicable regulatory frameworks, particularly BaFin and FCA requirements.
