The opportunity:
The Uphold EDD Analyst is responsible for a wide range of activities including, but not limited to, assisting with reviewing consumer accounts and onboarding, conducting periodic reviews, handling customer outreaches regarding their accounts, and engaging in other ad-hoc projects as needed. In addition to the above, the Analyst will be responsible for assisting the Uphold Compliance Advisory team in executing compliance functions of the CIP/KYC/CDD program.
What you’ll be doing primarily:
- Conducting onboarding and periodic Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews on consumer accounts
- Performing intermediate to complex analysis that requires knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) laws and regulations
- Analyzing research using the Internet, AML Tools like Lexis Nexis, etc., and review any press or media for adverse information regarding customers
- Updating customer profiles using internal CRM tools
- Interacting with compliance operations, investigations, fraud and other second-line of defenses for any potential case escalations
- Assisting in recommending improvements for internal processes, including forms/checklists, data collection methods, analyses and reporting to Uphold Compliance leadership
- Managing work efficiently to meet production goals and project deliverables
- Working collaboratively in a team environment
- Assisting the Uphold Compliance Department with ad-hoc projects and reviews as needed
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
- Fluent in English
- At least two years of AML/KYC/OFAC compliance experience working at a bank, broker dealer, or Fintech company
- Ability to work independently; take initiative; and able to adapt to change
- Strong quality, delivery and customer service orientation
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills
- Excellent attention to detail
Bonus if you have:
- Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS) designation preferred
- Prior experience working at a startup in FinTech/Crypto
- Working knowledge of ZenDesk, Veriff, Jira or other tools
- Working knowledge of data manipulation, gathering insights and analysis
- Availability for occasional work outside normal business hours to communicate with the U.S. team
- Strong quality, delivery and customer service orientation
- Ability to comprehend multiple languages when conducting documentation review

Salary: €24.000 - €30.240 per annum Gross
