About The Role
As a Senior Security Engineer at 0G Labs, you will be a foundational pillar in safeguarding the integrity of the world's most advanced AI blockchain. You will be entrusted with the security of a novel, high-throughput modular architecture and the vast ecosystem it supports. This role is for a security visionary who understands that securing decentralized AI is not just about protecting code, but about protecting the future of a transparent and accessible digital intelligence. You will work at the bleeding edge of cryptography, consensus mechanisms, smart contract security, and distributed systems, ensuring that 0G remains the most secure and trusted foundation for the decentralized world.
What You’ll Accomplish (Responsibilities):
- Secure the Protocol: Be the ultimate authority on the security of 0G’s core blockchain architecture and consensus mechanism. Lead threat modeling, design reviews, and vulnerability assessments to protect the network's integrity.
- Guard the Ecosystem: Own the security of 0G’s smart contracts and critical infrastructure. Conduct and oversee audits, establish developer security standards, and build tools to protect the entire application layer.
- Defend and Respond: Build and run our security operations. Implement monitoring, lead incident response, and ensure the resilience of our network and internal systems against attacks.
- Embed Security Everywhere: Foster a strong security culture. Integrate security into the development lifecycle, educate engineers, and choose tooling that makes building securely the default.
What You Bring (Requirements):
- 5+ years of experience in security engineering, with at least 2+ years focused on blockchain/Web3 security.
- Deep, hands-on expertise in smart contract security, including vulnerability assessment, mitigation, and mastery of tools like Slither, Foundry, or similar.
- Proven experience securing complex distributed systems and cloud-native infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform).
- Strong understanding of blockchain fundamentals, consensus algorithms, cryptography, and the Web3 threat landscape (e.g., reentrancy, oracle manipulation, validator attacks).
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go, Rust, Solidity, or Python for both review and tool-building.
- Experience conducting architecture reviews, threat modeling, and security audits from design to production.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate complex security risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment.
Nice to Haves (What you might bring):
- Experience with modular blockchain architectures, data availability layers, or EigenLayer.
- Knowledge of AI/ML security considerations, such as model integrity, verifiable inference, or data poisoning in a decentralized context.
- Public contributions to blockchain security (audit reports, open-source tools, conference talks, CVE disclosures).
- Experience securing validator operations or node infrastructure in a live blockchain network.
