Direct Crypto Ltd is a newly established entity within the Wirex Group, created to operate as a MiCA‑regulated Crypto‑Asset Service Provider (CASP) headquartered in Cyprus.
As part of our licensing and leadership build‑out, we are seeking an experienced Chief Operating & Risk Officer (CORO) to join the Management Board as a statutory director, playing a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s operating model, internal controls, and enterprise risk framework from day one.
This is a rare opportunity to help build a regulated crypto‑asset business from first principles within a well‑established, compliance‑led fintech group.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Chief Operating & Risk Officer is responsible for the end‑to‑end operational integrity, internal control environment, and enterprise risk management of Direct Crypto Ltd.
As a Management Board member and Key Function Holder, the role carries collective responsibility for governance, regulatory compliance, and executive decision‑making, and acts as a key regulatory counterpart to CySEC.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, implement and own the operating model and internal control framework
- Establish and maintain enterprise risk management
- Oversee regulatory implementation and supervisory engagement
- Act as a statutory director with collective responsibility
- Lead operational resilience, outsourcing and third‑party risk
- Embed a strong culture of accountability and control
ABOUT YOU
- 10+ years’ experience in regulated financial services, fintech or crypto
- Senior leadership experience across operations, risk or compliance
- Proven internal control and regulatory engagement experience
- Experience with CASP, MiCA or comparable authorisation processes
REGULATORY & ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Subject to CySEC fitness and propriety assessment
- Full background checks will be part of the recruitment process
- Must meet CySEC suitability screening requirements
- Must be based in and resident in Cyprus
- CySEC‑approved candidates strongly preferred
CONTRACT
- Management Board / Statutory Director role
- Flexible engagement initially, scaling post‑authorisation
- Employment or B2B executive services arrangement (subject to approval)
- Full-time executive role expected post-authorisation
