Your Mission
Shape and evolve the native iOS onboarding and verification experience; the critical gateway every user must pass through before accessing the platform.You will not only build features, but also help define how complex regulatory, identity, and compliance requirements are translated into fast, reliable, and intuitive user journeys. Your work directly impacts user activation, trust, and conversion across multiple regulated markets.
The Onboarding & Verification team owns the full entry lifecycle into Bitpanda: registration and account creation, personal data capture, AML questionnaires, identity verification flows with multiple providers, backend-driven onboarding orchestration, KYC refresh processes, and regulatory requirements. You will help ensure this entire system is scalable, resilient, and seamless across all edge cases and jurisdictions.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced onboarding and verification flows on iOS, working closely with product, design, backend, and compliance teams to deliver frictionless yet fully compliant user journeys.
- Architect and implement robust, multi-step onboarding experiences including registration, identity verification, AML flows, and dynamically orchestrated onboarding steps driven by backend systems.
- Integrate and maintain multiple identity verification providers (e.g. Sumsub, Onfido, Fourthline, SPID, Solaris, IDnow), ensuring reliability, consistency, and graceful handling of edge cases and failure scenarios.
- Take ownership of critical areas of the onboarding experience; driving improvements in conversion, reducing drop-off, improving performance, and ensuring long-term maintainability and scalability of the app.
Who you are
- You understand that onboarding is a high-stakes system where user experience, regulation, and conversion are tightly coupled.
- You are highly proficient in Swift and deeply experienced with iOS architecture, UIKit, SwiftUI, and building scalable, production-grade mobile systems.
- You have strong experience designing and shipping complex, multi-step user flows and integrating third-party SDKs or external service providers in mobile applications.
- You think in systems, not screens; you care about orchestration, state management, edge cases, and long-term maintainability of complex flows.
- You take senior-level ownership: you proactively identify friction, simplify complexity, improve architecture, and raise the technical and product bar of the team.
