The Finance team is hiring for a Lead Financial Business Control Officer.
What’s your job/responsibilities
As a Senior Financial Business Control Officer you play a key role in supporting finance team activities, by ensuring accurate financial statements, a strong control environment and effective functioning of financial processes and systems. In this role you report to the Head of Finance. Given the evolving nature of the organization, as part of an international team, the role also offers the opportunity to shape the contents and responsibilities in collaboration with your manager and to participate in various cross-functional business projects
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate general ledger accounting, reconciliations and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes
- Oversee billing & collections, cash reconciliation process and systems reconciliation flows, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (IFRS, Dutch GAAP and US GAAP), including performance insights on P/L and balance sheet
- Maintain and enhance the financial control framework, ensuring SOX compliance
- Support internal and external audits, statutory & regulatory reporting and address ad-hoc requests
- Drive automation and efficiency initiatives, leveraging AI/BI tools and act as a key finance partner in cross-functional projects
Is this you?
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proven experience with SOX compliance and/or financial control frameworks
- Solid knowledge of IFRS and Dutch GAAP (US GAAP is a plus)
- Experience working with BI tools and data-driven reporting
- Solid stakeholder management skills across finance, business and external parties
- Clear, structured and confident communication skills
- Proactive, outspoken and innovative mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement
- Comfortable working in a fast-changing, international environment
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
