Position summary
We are seeking an Associate Director – Policy & Advisory (MEA–APAC) to lead and scale Crystal’s regulatory advisory and commercial presence across the region.
This is a senior, high-impact role at the intersection of regulatory strategy, client advisory, and revenue growth. You will be responsible for building and leading a regulatory compliance advisory capability, acting as Crystal’s regional ambassador to regulators and industry bodies, and driving strategic client relationships and commercial outcomes.
You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Marketing while owning a portfolio of key accounts and contributing directly to revenue through expansion and advisory engagements.
This is a remote, full-time role with regular regional and occasional international travel.
Duties and responsibilities
- Lead the development of a Regulatory Compliance advisory arm for MEA–APAC markets, from strategic positioning to full-scale service delivery.
- Build and maintain relationships with regulators, law-enforcement agencies, and financial authorities across MEA–APAC.
- Represent Crystal in industry associations, working groups, and public-sector initiatives.
- Monitor and analyse regulatory developments related to digital assets and financial services.
- Translate regulatory changes into actionable insights for internal teams and clients.
- Act as Crystal’s regional regulatory ambassador, strengthening public- and private-sector positioning.
- Own and develop a portfolio of strategic clients across MEA–APAC.
- Drive client retention, satisfaction, and long-term relationship growth.
- Identify and execute upsell and cross-sell opportunities across existing accounts.
- Carry and deliver against a quota focused on account expansion revenue.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on regulatory and compliance matters.
- Partner with Sales Executives on new opportunities and strategic deals.
- Support deal progression through regulatory and compliance expertise.
- Contribute to RFPs, regulatory questionnaires, and commercial proposals.
- Lead and deliver advisory engagements on crypto-regulatory frameworks.
- Design and deliver training programs for government and institutional clients.
- Use advisory and training engagements to deepen relationships and unlock growth opportunities.
- Conduct regulatory and market research to support strategy and client engagement.
- Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Marketing on positioning.
- Represent Crystal at events, webinars, and industry forums to drive visibility and opportunities.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as required by the management team of Crystal to support business objectives.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in crypto/blockchain compliance, FinTech, SaaS, or RegTech.
- Strong expertise in AML, compliance, and financial-services regulation.
- Proven experience engaging with regulators and public-sector stakeholders across MEA–APAC.
- Demonstrated ability to own client relationships and drive commercial outcomes (including quota responsibility).
- Experience delivering advisory services and leading complex client engagements.
- Strong understanding of financial institutions - exchanges, fintechs, banks, payment providers, or institutional crypto firms.
- Excellent stakeholder management and executive-level communication skills.
- Strong public speaking and training delivery capabilities.
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in execution.
- Self-driven, commercially minded, and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setup and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel regionally and internationally as required.
