While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.
Coinbase is in a high-stakes battle to update the financial system, and we’re looking for a "War Room" comms expert to help us win. We are moving fast to deliver more empowering economic tools - like faster, cheaper, and more accessible financial services - to every consumer. As we navigate a pivotal regulatory and political landscape, we need a battle-tested strategist who can bridge the gap between complex legal/policy issues and winning the hearts and minds of the American public. You will be the primary architect of a narrative that proves crypto is about financial freedom and consumer choice.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
- Lead Strategic Narratives: Drive the communications strategy for high-stakes legislative and regulatory initiatives to ensure a fair and predictable environment for the crypto economy.
- Shape the Public Record: Partner with legal and policy teams to translate complex litigation and filings into clear, winning public narratives.
- Mobilize Advocacy: Elevate the voice of the consumer, ensuring policymakers understand the real-world impact of pro-innovation policy.
- Execute Earned Media Mastery: Leverage deep relationships with national political, financial, and tech journalists to aggressively tell the Coinbase story.
- Drive Digital Impact: Utilize X and other social platforms to bypass traditional gatekeepers and speak directly to our community, policymakers and thought leaders.
- Build Long-Term Brand Authority: Maintain Coinbase’s position as the most trusted leader in the space through multiple election and regulatory cycles
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- Political Combat Experience: Minimum 7 years in high-stakes political communications (Hill, campaign, or agency rapid-response).
- On-the-Record Mastery: Proven track record as a spokesperson managing high-pressure national media inquiries.
- X/Social Media Native: Deep understanding of how to drive a news cycle and move public opinion via digital platforms.
- Ownership Mindset: An "always-on" operative who views personal and company growth as intertwined and thrives in a campaign-style environment.
- Mission Alignment: Commitment to working in a non-partisan environment and a passion for the potential of crypto to update the financial system.

AI Disclosure
For select roles, Coinbase is piloting an AI tool based on machine learning technologies to conduct initial screening interviews to qualified applicants.
