Build a Safer World.
TRM Labs provides AI-powered intelligence solutions that help public and private sector agencies investigate and disrupt crime. TRM's platforms enable investigators to trace illicit activity, build cases, and construct operating pictures of threat networks. Leading agencies and businesses worldwide rely on TRM to make the world safer and more secure.
The Marketing team at TRM Labs operates at the intersection of blockchain intelligence, brand credibility, and high-stakes go-to-market execution — designing for an audience that includes federal law enforcement, global regulators, and major financial institutions. This Senior Designer role owns the visual craft that TRM's brand depends on: hero campaigns, conference identities, executive materials, and the scalable design system that lets the marketing team move at TRM Speed without sacrificing the brand integrity our audience demands.
The impact you will have:
- Own the production and final quality review of all brand touchpoints — from social campaigns and digital advertising to event identities and executive decks — ensuring every asset is on-brand, defensible, and appropriate for TRM's high-scrutiny customer base.
- Use AI tools (Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Runway) to generate concept variations and accelerate production of routine assets, so your craft time is invested in the brand judgment calls and finishes that AI cannot make reliably.
- Lead design for flagship brand moments: conference identities for Chainalysis Links, Consensus, and RSA; hero product launch campaigns; and major customer-facing activations that define how TRM is perceived at industry scale.
- Build and maintain a scalable Figma component library and template system that enables Growth, PMM, and Sales to self-serve routine design needs — measurably reducing inbound requests and increasing overall marketing velocity.
- Partner with Growth Marketing, Product Marketing, and Sales on creative briefs, translating strategic objectives into visual systems that work across every channel TRM activates.
- Art-direct contractor and agency outputs to ensure brand consistency on work produced outside the design function, maintaining the same quality bar as internally produced assets.
What we're looking for:
- 4+ years of marketing or brand design experience, with a portfolio showing high-production-quality work across campaigns, events, and digital — not just digital UI or UX.
- Demonstrable AI fluency: you use tools like Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, or Runway as a core part of how you generate concepts and accelerate production — not occasionally, as an experiment you're still exploring.
- Proven ability to own the full design stack: social, digital advertising, presentation design, event creative, and branded print across multiple channels and concurrent deadlines.
- Strong brand instincts — you know immediately when something is off-brand and have the confidence and directness to say so, fix it, and explain why it matters.
- Experience designing in a fast-moving environment where delivery speed matters as much as craft quality; you can ship excellent work without perfectionism-driven delays.
- Self-directed and proactive: you take briefs and produce creative directions without waiting for someone to tell you exactly what to make.
About the Team:
- The Marketing team at TRM is senior, high-autonomy, and deeply cross-functional — every member operates with real ownership over their domain.
- This role will serve as the primary owner of design execution across Marketing — a high-visibility position with significant creative latitude and real stakes.
- The bar for brand quality at TRM is high because the audience is high-stakes: federal agencies, global financial institutions, and regulators don't forgive a brand that looks generic, careless, or AI-produced without judgment.
- TRM moves fast, communicates directly, and expects designers to own their creative domain end-to-end — not to wait for review cycles to tell them what to fix.
Team Operating Rhythms:
- The Marketing team operates distributed, not distant — async-first with strong Notion and Slack norms for creative briefs, feedback cycles, and approvals.
- All team members are expected to maintain at least a 4-hour overlap with PST business hours regardless of location.
- Creative feedback happens in Figma and Loom; synchronous time is reserved for aligning on strategic direction, not reviewing executions.
- Design requests flow through a structured brief process; this role owns the intake queue and sets turnaround expectations proactively — partners are never surprised by a timeline.
On-Call Responsibilities:
- On-call schedule: Not applicable for this role
- On-call frequency: Not applicable for this role
Learn about TRM Speed in this position:
- Within the first 30 days, audit all current marketing design assets, identify the top 3 brand consistency gaps, and deliver a prioritized remediation plan — so the team has a clear, actionable roadmap from Day 30 forward.
- By Day 60, own and deliver a full campaign design package for at least one live marketing activation — event, product launch, or campaign — from brief to final assets, with zero material brand revisions required from leadership.
- By Day 90, publish a Figma component library and self-service template system that enables Growth and PMM to produce on-brand assets for at least 30% of routine requests without designer involvement — measurably reducing inbound volume and freeing craft time for high-stakes work.
