The Accounting and Financial Operations team at Chainalysis is focused on building the appropriate accounting rigor and infrastructure while simultaneously maturing and transforming back office operations. The Principal Finance Systems Operations Manager owns the strategy and roadmap for aligning the key features and functionality of the SaaS Finance Technology platforms with the overall business goals and processes of the Finance team. They are also responsible for partnering with the Business Systems Team to prioritize systems projects into sprints over the course of the fiscal year. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building and scaling systems and processes as an individual contributor. This individual will seek to build upon our current processes by securing quick wins while also creating a path to invest for the future. Most importantly, they understand how to scale the department in line with the business and are excited to work at a rapidly evolving, mission-driven organization.
In this role, you will:
- Mature back office operations, systems and processes by leading a diverse array of initiatives
- Work with Finance leadership and end-users to develop a roadmap for NetSuite
- Collaborate and work with the Business Systems team to understand Chainalysis’ systems landscape across Finance, Revenue, People and other functions that work with Finance
- Collaborate with key finance and business systems stakeholders to create a prioritization of systems projects. Action the list and address the identified gaps, inclusive of planning tools, PSA tools, commissions tools, T&E tools and more
- Lead with a process point of view complemented by extensive systems knowledge - make sure that process reengineering and building is at the forefront of projects
- Understand how the ERP is used across Chainalysis and evaluate how to improve the employee experience through self-service and enablement - help empower the business to do more on their own
- Track progress and updates to roadmap and communicate status and changes to stakeholders
- Develop cross-functional partnerships and understanding across corporate functions, in order to identify downstream impacts and information / knowledge sharing
We’re looking for candidates who have:
- Extensive hands-on, power-user proficiency with NetSuite
- A strong sense of initiative and the ability create and manage their own workload
- The ability to gather and prioritize business requirements into functional and non-functional requirements for the Business Systems team to execute
- Experience creating materials and resources to support ERP policies and processes, including creating and leading demonstrations and building quick reference and “how to” guides
- Excellent project management, time management, and stakeholder management skills
- Produced test scripts, plans, and supported UAT testing in an ERP
- Implemented and maintained SOD controls and SOX compliance in core systems
- Experience with designing role-based access control and working with IT to manage single sign-on
- Previous experience in a B2B, enterprise SaaS environment
Nice to have experience:
- NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management experience preferred
- Deep, hands-on, power-user experience with a Planning and Forecasting tool like Adaptive Insights, Anaplan or similar
- Experience with BI tools like Tableau and data warehouses like Snowflake or Databricks
- Familiarity with Salesforce as part of a holistic Quote To Cash process
- Comfortable with writing out policies for system usage
- Experience with facilitating training sessions and onboarding for new as well as power users
- Experience with a PSA tool like OpenAir or Certinia (Formerly FinancialForce)
