We’re looking for fintech enthusiasts to join us in creating the financial infrastructure of tomorrow. We’re building the first European Investment API to enable any financial institution offering a wide range of efficient and transparent investment products, such as stocks and ETFs in nominal, portfolio, and fractional form. We’re based in Berlin but are also open to hiring remotely in Germany or Estonia for this role. If you're currently based elsewhere but would like to move to Germany, we’re happy to support your relocation.
Your mission:
- Organise, consult on and and manage development of new products in the fields of trading, payment and investment infrastructure
- Strategically and creatively think about solutions and opportunities with regards to new products’ legal as well as business needs
- Implement legal rules necessitated by product and operational needs
- Support Legal, Product and Operations teams with regards to trading and market operations
Team's mission:
We are currently embarking on conquering the European investment landscape. Upvest will roll out its product offering over all across the European Economic Area. In this regard, the Legal team plays a crucial role in connection with preparing, organizing and operating the rollout by way of using the European freedoms while at the same time complying with specific local regulation. Upvest Legal also contributes to the firm's expansion by keeping track and managing its contractual relationships with End Users, Clients and Vendors.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
- Grow substantially by learning about building, expanding and running our investment services offering
- Learn about investment services, securities banking and securities regulation
- Challenge yourself by working in a high speed, dynamic and focused working environment
- Independently assess and implement required legal changes in contractual relationships
Job requirements:
- Courage to think innovatively and outside the box
- Strong interest in securities trading and good understanding of investment services offering is required to excel in our legal work
- Existing knowledge, experience or willingness to learn about securities, banking and corporate law (e.g. Aktiengesetz, PSD2, MiFID/MiFIR)
- Strong project management capabilities, as your work will require you to keep track of local requirements and corresponding documentation
- Willingness to work in a demanding and dynamic intellectual environment
- First and Second German Legal State Exam; applications from all levels of experience welcome
