Business Development at Coinbase accelerates strategic company priorities and delivers impact via partnerships. You will serve in an exciting new role focused on driving growth and distribution partnerships.
With increased regulatory clarity for digital assets, the timing is right to engage with a broad range of partners to accelerate growth and uptake of Coinbase services across our global footprint. You will spearhead strategic partnerships that will drive the growth and open new avenues of distribution of our product. You will identify, negotiate, and execute high-impact partnerships that expand our market reach, increase user adoption, and drive long-term growth.
To be successful in this role, you will collaborate closely with product management to define the requirements for a successful growth strategy and identify suitable partners based on those traits. Together with cross-functional teams, you will define and rank partnership opportunities, implement growth initiatives, and ensure that our product scales across new and existing markets.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
- Identify and prioritize partner verticals and map the key players within each vertical.
- Propose creative commercial structures to drive value for partners and Coinbase
- Be the business go-to leading cross-functional partnership initiatives, working with Product, Finance, Comms, Compliance, Legal, Policy, Sales, and Marketing
- Own all elements of the partnership life cycle: scoping of opportunities, identifying potential partners, framing of value, negotiating agreements, including implementation and optimization
- Build a measurement framework to quantify the impact of the various growth initiatives, working closely with Data Science & Engineering
- Maintain and manage productive relationships with partners, resolving business, policy and technical issues.
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- 3+ years of experience across strategic deal-oriented roles with global exposure. Examples include: corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, new market expansion, go-to-market strategy and partnerships
- Experience in crypto (personal or professional)
- Exceptional interpersonal communication, relationship management, and organizational skills, including navigating complex organizational dynamics to deliver cross-team results
- Deep analytical, prioritization, and problem solving skills and proven experience using data to identify actionable insights resulting in better product outcomes
- Entrepreneurial mindset and experience succeeding in fast-paced environments (e.g. you make things happen by breaking through brick walls)
- Occasional travel encouraged

- International experience
- Experience with growth partnerships, growth strategies
- Existing network in industry verticals suitable for distribution partnerships (e.g., telecommunications, mobile)
