The Position
Solidus Labs is looking for a Head of Policy – U.S. Market to identify and capitalize on evolving regulations and policies that create business opportunities and drive client acquisition. This role will report to the VP of Marketing as part of the growing Solidus Labs policy function.
This strategic team member will play a leading role in leveraging regulatory trends to generate revenue, positioning Solidus as a trusted partner for regulators, public agencies, and private sector actors. They will ensure that regulatory developments drive product innovation, sales strategies, and business expansion.
A successful Head of Policy will combine regulatory expertise with business acumen, supporting sales and marketing teams with actionable insights, thought leadership, and public-facing engagements to accelerate growth.
Responsibilities- Regulation-Driven Business Development – Identify and capitalize on evolving regulations and policies to drive new business opportunities, directly contributing to revenue growth and client acquisition.
- Market Positioning & Sales Enablement – Provide regulatory insights that help position Solidus’ solutions as essential, trusted partners for financial institutions, directly supporting sales and revenue objectives.
- Trusted Regulatory & Industry Partner – Build and maintain relationships with regulators and industry bodies to open doors for commercial opportunities and enhance Solidus’ reputation as a market leader.
- Thought Leadership & Public Engagement – Represent Solidus at industry events, panels, and media engagements, establishing the company as a market leader in compliance and surveillance solutions.
- Content & Strategic Messaging – Create whitepapers, reports, and briefs that translate regulatory trends into tangible business opportunities and client engagement strategies.
- U.S. Policy Guru – Ensure that regulatory changes shape Solidus’ go-to-market strategy, product development, and competitive positioning, enhancing its value proposition in compliance-focused markets.
Requirements- 8–10 years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or policy-driven sales within financial services, regtech, or compliance, ideally from the client/user side (e.g., financial institution, trading firm, exchange, or asset manager).
- Proven track record in revenue generation and client acquisition, leveraging regulatory frameworks to drive market strategy and commercial growth.
- Deep understanding of U.S. regulatory frameworks, including the SEC, CFTC, FINRA, Treasury (OCC, OFAC, FinCEN), and state-level regulations, with hands-on experience navigating compliance challenges.
- Experience working directly within compliance teams at financial institutions, ensuring alignment with real-world client needs and regulatory demands.
- Strong industry network with compliance leaders, regulators, and financial institutions to drive business opportunities.
- Thought leadership and public engagement experience (speaking at events, publishing regulatory insights, engaging with media) to build credibility and influence.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into business growth strategies and actionable sales insights.
- Based in New York City with flexibility for travel as needed.
