The Platform Engineering team is the force multiplier for our entire engineering organization, embracing the principles of DevOps and GitOps to drive collaboration and integration across the entire service lifecycle.
THE WORK:
As a Senior Staff Platform Engineer, you won't just build infrastructure; you'll be the chief architect and technical owner of our Developer Platform. You will design and implement the self-service "paved road" that empowers hundreds of engineers to securely, reliably, and efficiently build and operate services in a novel, high-stakes environment based on Blockchain technology, moving billions of dollars globally. This is a highly influential role that demands a blend of deep systems expertise, strategic vision, and a passion for engineering enablement.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Strategic Leadership & Developer Enablement
The focus of this role shifts from purely building tools to defining and executing a product strategy for internal engineering services.

- Define the Developer Platform Strategy: Architect, lead, and drive the multi-year roadmap for our next-generation Self-Service Developer Platform, covering everything from initial code scaffolding to production deployment and operational observability.
- Pioneer Self-Service Tools: Design and implement a cohesive set of internal APIs and tooling that completely abstracts away infrastructure complexity. This includes building an Internal Developer Portal and comprehensive Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) modules to enable product teams to manage their resources without direct Platform team intervention.
- Drive Operational Excellence: Establish and enforce best-in-class standards for monitoring, logging, tracing, and security across all shared services (Kubernetes, Service Mesh, etc.), ensuring these capabilities are consumed as a seamless part of the platform experience.
- Solve Novel, High-Impact Challenges: Architect and deliver robust solutions for complex challenges unique to our scale and domain, including PKI, advanced secret management, multi-region failover, data replication consistency, and platform resiliency in a distributed financial system.
- Technical Mentorship & Influence: Serve as a top-tier technical leader and mentor across engineering. Drive the evolution of DevOps and GitOps principles by designing systems that naturally encourage best practices, reducing the operational burden on product teams.
- Research & Evangelism: Proactively research and prototype cutting-edge technologies. Push the team to adopt tools that dramatically improve developer experience, performance, and operational efficiency.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Technical Depth & System Mastery

- Experience & Impact: 10+ years of meaningful work experience, including 8+ years of proven development background with Go, Python, or Java, and 5+ years of demonstrable experience designing, securing, and operating highly available, large-scale, multi-region service platforms.
- Cloud & Container Orchestration Mastery:
- Expert-level proficiency designing and operating scalable services on public cloud infrastructures, particularly AWS and/or GCP.
- Expert-level fluency in Kubernetes (or a similar container runtime/scheduler) and its entire ecosystem.
- DevOps Ecosystem Expertise:
- Deep experience architecting and building reliable, secure CI/CD pipelines and integrating security and testing into the delivery process.
- Mastery of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi) to manage infrastructure in a declarative, GitOps-friendly manner.
- Advanced experience with technologies like Service Mesh (Istio), multi-cluster/Multi-AZ redundancy, and production-grade observability stacks (Grafana, Prometheus, Tempo/Loki, Datadog).
- Platform Mindset: A strong customer-centric approach, treating the Developer Platform as a product whose success is measured by the velocity and happiness of internal engineering teams.
- Leadership & Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to distill complex technical trade-offs into clear recommendations for both technical peers and executive stakeholders.
