The launch of smart contracts on Stellar, brings a wealth of opportunity for innovation, and when you join SDF as the Developer Events Manager you will be a part of a team that’s leveraging that opportunity to increase developer participation in order to bootstrap the ecosystem of tools, protocols, dapps, and educational resources necessary for Stellar to succeed.
Focusing on dev activation strategies around hackathons and other in-person and virtual events, you will dream up, design, and execute on ideas for events, dev activations, and hackathons to grab developer attention, to attract and motivate early adopters, and to show the world what’s possible when native smart contracts meet Stellar’s unparalleled access.
In this role, you will:
- Create dev activation strategies around hackathons and other events
- Design, develop, and lead logistics for hackathons and events
- Design, plan, and coordinate developer events and activations with dev demos (e.g. passkey activations)
- Support the design of hackathon prompts and tracks and identify key workshops and other hackathon technical content
- Dream up and execute on ideas for developer events and activations (e.g. head-to-head competitions with another ecosystem)
- Seek out devs and dev partners in other ecosystems for whom Stellar may be a good fit, and build relationships to bring them into the ecosystem
- Coordinate with other ecosystems on joint initiatives
- Own relevant ongoing dev activation and event onboarding 3rd party partnerships
- Collaborate with and/or co-own event initiatives with Dev Marketing, Ecosystem Growth, Investments, etc.
- Explore ways to leverage communities that are growing through the Stellar Ambassador Program and Stellar Community Fund
- Source and organize local SF/NY events, workshops, hacker houses, and other dev activation opportunities
You have:
- 5+ years of professional experience in developer relations, developer marketing, or community development
- Experience creating, developing, and scaling dev activation programs for web3 dev activations
- Experience event planning, managing logistics, and building partner relationships
- A passion for technology, and the ability to learn quickly and understand technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Curiosity and a strong desire to learn anything you don’t know, and explore, especially when it comes to identifying dev activation opportunities
- Creativity, drive, and self-direction when it comes to organizing dev spaces, developing initiatives to grow and reward community members, and finding ways to surface the right information and enable relationships
- Eagerness, presence, and a love of talking to people and bringing positivity to others
- Excellent writing and speaking skills; poise, presence, and experience with public speaking
- Knowledge of blockchain and the ability to navigate web3 ecosystems
- A love of travel (since this role will require a fair amount)

We offer competitive pay with a base salary range for this position of $125,000 - $175,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, we offer lumen-denominated grants along with the following perks and benefits:
