The opportunity:
Uphold is looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst to join our Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a friendly, motivated, and talented group that takes pride in building high-quality financial products used by millions of people worldwide.
Combining the latest technologies, agile ways of working, and a drive for continuous improvement, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and usability of Uphold’s platforms.
You’ll support the planning, design, and execution of system testing for a range of implementations — from simple features to complex, cross-functional releases. Working closely with product managers, designers, and engineers, you’ll validate that our systems behave as expected and deliver a smooth, secure, and intuitive user experience.
Primary responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure quality is embedded from the start.
- Contribute to the review of requirements, specifications, and design documents, providing feedback from a QA perspective.
- Follow product development from conception to release, ensuring that test coverage and quality objectives are met.
- Design, execute, and maintain test cases, scenarios, and documentation.
- Perform manual testing and exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and ensure reliability.
- Contribute to planning and execution of testing activities that verify accuracy, performance, and usability.
- Log, prioritize, and track defects in a clear, reproducible way to support efficient debugging.
- Identify recurring issues and collaborate with engineers to prevent regressions.
- Support the growth of our automation framework by creating or improving automated tests where applicable.
- Ensure final releases meet user expectations, product requirements, and quality standards.
- Participate in refining and improving QA policies, tools, and practices.
Required qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.
- Solid understanding of test design techniques, case management, and defect reporting.
- Hands-on experience with bug-tracking tools and test case management systems.
- Familiarity with test automation concepts, frameworks, and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, or similar).
- Experience working in agile or lean development environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a curious and detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to think critically and assess quality in context, balancing speed and precision.
- Passion for uncovering issues early and helping the team deliver world-class products.
Bonus if you have:
- Practical experience implementing automated test scripts or contributing to CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with API testing and performance testing tools.
