Summary
We are looking for a Technical Writer to join the Midnight Foundation's Developer Relations team and help us build clear, accurate, developer-first content across our entire ecosystem.
Midnight is a regulatory-friendly, data protection-focused blockchain designed for real-world applications. It uses zero-knowledge proofs and a privacy-first programming model to protect sensitive data. Documentation is core infrastructure here, not a side project. The content you produce directly shapes how fast developers onboard, how confidently they build, and how much they trust Midnight as a platform.
In this role, you will be a hands-on producer. You will write, maintain, and improve developer-facing content across our docs, tutorials, and example dApp resources. You will work closely with DevRel Engineers, collaborate with Product and Engineering, and contribute to the team's content pipeline as a reliable, high-quality executor. This is an individual contributor role focused on doing great work, not managing others.
Requirements
What You'll Work On
Content Creation and Maintenance
- Write and maintain developer documentation, including conceptual guides, tutorials, how-tos, SDK references, API docs, upgrade notes, and example dApp READMEs
- Produce standalone tutorial content for platforms like DEV.to, turning complex technical concepts into clear, actionable learning materials
- Support release readiness by writing changelogs, migration guides, and developer-facing announcements alongside network and SDK releases
- Keep existing content accurate and up to date as Midnight's platform evolves
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with DevRel Engineers and the Developer Educator to turn example dApps, hackathon outputs, and community learnings into polished documentation
- Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure documentation launches in step with features, breaking changes, and releases
- Collaborate with Shielded Technologies to maintain clarity across SDK and tooling documentation
Developer Experience and Feedback
- Use feedback from Discord, the Forum, GitHub, hackathons, and surveys to identify gaps and prioritize improvements
- Contribute to refining documentation flow, navigation, and clarity based on real developer pain points
- Track how content performs and share observations that help the team improve
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a technical writer, with a portfolio of developer-facing content
- Comfortable writing about programming concepts, APIs, SDKs, and Web3 topics
- Familiarity with smart contract development or example-driven documentation
- Proficiency in Markdown, Git, Docusaurus, and developer documentation workflows
- Clear, concise writing style with a developer-first mindset and strong attention to detail
- Ability to gather information independently from engineering teams, specs, and subject-matter experts
- Good instincts for organization, prioritization, and delivering quality work on tight timelines
- Adaptable, receptive to feedback, and willing to iterate
Nice to Have
- Experience with zero-knowledge proofs, privacy-preserving technology, or blockchain ecosystems
- Experience contributing to learning platforms or structured educational content
- Familiarity with open-source contribution workflows, including writing contributor guides, PR templates, and community-facing documentation
- Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Looker Studio, or similar) to track content performance, given that measuring docs' impact is something you've flagged as important
