Coinbase is looking for a highly motivated Risk Analyst to play a pivotal role in supporting the Ireland CRO and the Risk Management team in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across the entity's operations. The role offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise in risk management within the complex and rapidly evolving cryptocurrency and e-money space, while adhering to the Central Bank of Ireland regulations. This is an entry-level position, ideal for someone with a passion for financial services, regulatory compliance, and emerging technologies.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties)
- Risk Monitoring & Reporting: Assist in monitoring key risk indicators (KRIs) and metrics across the entity’s operations, preparing daily, weekly, and monthly risk reports for the Ireland CRO and other stakeholders.
- Risk Assessments: Support the execution of risk assessments related to operational, market, credit, liquidity, and compliance risks, helping identify potential exposures and weaknesses within the entity’s processes.
- Incident Management: Assist in the identification and documentation of incidents, risks, and control issues, collaborating with relevant departments to track resolution and ensure appropriate remediation measures are implemented.
- Risk Frameworks: Help maintain and enhance risk management frameworks, including risk policies, procedures, and internal controls, to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
- Risk Tools & Technology: Assist in the development, testing, and implementation of risk management tools, ensuring data accuracy and functionality for ongoing risk monitoring and reporting.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Product, Legal, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure integrated risk management across all business functions.
- Training & Awareness: Participate in ongoing risk training and development programs, ensuring awareness of the latest regulatory developments, cryptocurrency market trends, and risk management methodologies.
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- Education: Bachelor's degree with background in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-2+ years of experience in a risk or financial services role.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and the ability to identify trends, assess risk exposures, and provide actionable insights.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable working with risk management tools, data analysis software, and Excel. Experience with blockchain or cryptocurrency platforms is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive and resourceful in identifying and addressing risk issues, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, with a willingness to learn and adapt to the evolving cryptocurrency landscape.
- Integrity & Ethics: Strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of ethical behavior and integrity, particularly in relation to financial regulation and risk management.
