Coinbase Infrastructure Security is seeking a deep subject matter expert in infrastructure security with an extensive background in control development to solve challenges in runtime security, Linux operating system security, container security and orchestration, container artifact lifecycle management, and supply chain safety security. You will work closely with a small pod of experienced security engineers and partners to create and execute a vision for the security of infrastructure platforms, containers, operating systems, and software repositories. You will impact at-scale through sound engineering, first-principles thinking, and continuous iteration. Developers will move fast and safely with the solutions that you deliver.
What you’ll be doing:
- Operate with a high degree of independence and autonomy to solve ambiguous problems in runtime security and software development infrastructure
- Work closely with your peers in Information Security and Infrastructure Engineering to create, communicate, and lead a strategic vision for your space.
- Solve complex, highly ambiguous, and nuanced technical challenges to deliver step-level security risk reductions.
- Build and evolve infrastructure platforms and automation by co-creating with engineering teams.
- Mentor infrastructure security and software engineers, support their professional goals, and continuously up-level the organization’s technical bench.
What we look for in you:
- At least 7 years of experience in software or development-focused security engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience building controls to secure large infrastructure platforms that support thousands of developers.
- An execution-focused mindset, capable of navigating through ambiguity and delivering results.
- Your passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together drives you to excel in this role.
Nice to haves:
- You have built security controls for runtime monitoring, confidential compute, workload isolation, and/or systems integrity.
- You have worked with Golang, Docker, AWS, GCP, Terraform, and/or Artifactory.
