Based in San Francisco or New York City
It’s rare that a new asset class is born. Nevertheless, we’re witnessing exactly that with the rise of crypto. Over just the last four years, crypto has evolved from an embryonic $350B market to a growing $3T+ juggernaut. At Bitwise, we believe that crypto has reached a turning point, and is headed north of $10T over the next few years.
Our goal at Bitwise is to help investors understand and access the opportunities emerging in the new crypto asset class. We’re looking for an exceptional individual to join the Research team with a focus on programmable blockchains, from Ethereum to Solana, Aptos, Sui, NEAR, Avalanche, Berachain, and beyond.
What You Will Do
- Go deep in programmable blockchains. Be Bitwise’s boots on the ground, building relationships, joining dev calls, attending meetups and conferences, speaking on podcasts, and more. Your job is to know more about the space — and know more people in the space — than anyone.
- Leverage your deep expertise to generate insightful opinions about how the ecosystem is developing and where the investable opportunities lie.
- Write and publish content across a variety of relevant topics, including protocol insights, infrastructure, economic analysis, tokenomics, use cases, and the future direction of the space.
- Contribute to Bitwise’s product strategy for both traditional financial products and products on the crypto-native/on-chain frontier.
You will have the opportunity to experience rapid growth and work on the highest-impact initiatives within the company. In the process, you will shape research and product strategy at one of the fastest-growing crypto asset managers in the world.
Who You Are
- You love crypto. I mean, really love it. You want to immerse yourself in the ecosystem, network with everyone, contribute to protocol development, and understand the ecosystem inside and out. Hint: This should be a dream job for you.
- You can understand things deeply and can explain them in simple terms. People tell you that you’re good at this. You are comfortable both writing and speaking publicly.
- You have published thoughts on crypto in the past. This is critical. It could be white papers, it could be tweets … but you’ve taken the time to think about the space and write about it for public consumption.
- You are obsessed with crypto and have hands-on experience interacting with crypto protocols (e.g., through app usage, advising a crypto project, participating in a DAO, and/or doing your own deep dives into projects).
- Your style is like ours: high-energy, positive, caring, deliberate, self-aware, curious, and open-minded, inclined to take ownership to get the best outcome but happy to transfer or share ownership with others. You’re proactive in pursuing what you want, you take pride in your ability to communicate and connect with others, and you’re always looking to improve.
- The idea of being early on a small team where things change rapidly and everyone pitches in excites you. You understand that contributing to a high-growth company involves wearing many hats and tackling problems outside of your comfort zone.
- You have 5+ years experience in research and/or data-focused roles. Previous crypto and TradFi experience is a plus. Programming skill in at least one programming language, such as R or Python, is nice to have.
