The mission of a Member of Global Risk Management, Trading Risk, is to leverage deep expertise in risk management and technical knowledge to manage and mitigate risks for a rapidly growing crypto business. In this role, you will be building risk monitoring systems and act as a thought partner, enabling new business opportunities while maintaining a risk profile aligned with the company's risk appetite.
As you have skills in programming, you are expected to collaborate with trading, data science, and engineering teams to build and refine risk management systems as well as provide insights and strategies to support business growth. You will also apply your skills and judgment to solve unique challenges in the crypto industry, contributing directly to the company’s success.

You will manage and influence the risk management strategies for a dynamic and high-growth business line at Anchorage Digital, with significant visibility across the organization.
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Python or functional programming with experience in data analysis.
- Understand the impact of market, liquidity, and credit risks.
- Knowledge of derivatives.
- Demonstrates proficiency in designing and building risk management systems and processes.
Complexity and Impact of Work:
- Work directly with quants to build tools that improves risk management.
- Assess the creditworthiness of clients to determine acceptable levels of credit exposure.
- Assess the liquidity and volatility of assets to determine acceptable levels of market exposure.
- Skilled in engaging with stakeholders to navigate complex problems, refine product requirements, and deliver innovative solutions.
- Capable of breaking down larger projects into smaller, actionable tasks, while precisely estimating project timelines and scope.
Organizational Knowledge:
- Actively engages with engineering and business stakeholders to align efforts with Anchorage’s strategic vision, ensuring delivery of projects and initiatives.
- Develops and implements programs, projects and processes aligned with Anchorage’s strategic direction and needs.
- Proactively shares insights and methodologies across teams to ensure broad understanding and adoption, effectively eliminating single points of failure and fostering a culture of collective knowledge and resilience.
Communication and Influence:
- Skilled at fostering shared consciousness and driving consensus by articulating complex issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Serves as a knowledge leader and partner, empowering and guiding colleagues across the organization.
You may be a fit for this role if you have:
- A degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM field, demonstrating a strong foundation in theoretical and applied aspects of your discipline.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to tackle complex problems.
- Capital markets risk management experience.
- Outstanding communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating effective collaboration and knowledge sharing across the organization.
Although not a requirement, bonus points if you have:
- Drive to overcome roadblocks to seek answers and influence outcome.
- Hands-on experience with managing and analyzing large datasets in the financial sector.
