At Improbable, we’ve been venturing into unexplored territory for over a decade, seeking new ways to connect people and amplify their lives. We’re shaping virtual worlds of unprecedented scale for the gaming, web3, and related sectors, creating world-changing technology from Morpheus to M2. With us, you’ll tackle questions that no one else is asking and find answers that define the future.
We are growing an engineering team which specialises in deep technical problem spaces, from high performance computing to the application of AI. We work on a wide variety of projects for a range of businesses. Recent examples include Somnia, the world’s highest throughput EVM-based L1 blockchain, and work on Morpheus and related virtual events technology.
This team is looking to hire effective generalist engineers, who are able to learn, contribute, and innovate, in a wide variety of technical areas, often with a focus on lower level or distributed systems.
Your Opportunity:
- Work directly on a wide variety of cutting edge technology in a broad spread of technical areas.
- Develop innovative solutions to deep technical problems.
- Build and operate high performance distributed systems.
- Develop your skillset working on low-level performance sensitive systems.
Why You're Made For This:
- A fast and effective learner, able to quickly become proficient in a new technical area.
- An ability and interest in learning deep below the abstractions that you are using.
- Some experience working on low-level technical problems, or building and operating distributed systems.
- Professional software engineering experience in C++, Rust or C.
- Ability to drive an outcome and unblock yourself and those around you with high productivity.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
This role is available as remote, hybrid or in-office. We have a great office space in Spitalfields in London but are equally happy if you'd prefer to work from home some, or all of the time. We are 'Flexa' certified, meaning our entire employee experience is anchored around flexibility and autonomy.
While we think the above experience could be important, we’re keen to hear from people that believe they have valuable experience to bring to the role. If you identify with the team and mission, but not all of our requirements, then please still apply.
